Drought Resistant Gardening
Join Colorado Master Gardener Robert Sanchez for an interesting conversation… According to the US Geologic Survey, based on the precipitation level in Colorado’s Front Range, we live in a desert. Moreover, the Front Range has minor droughts at least once every three years and major droughts at least once every two to three decades. Our summers are getting warmer and dryer. We often see brown spots developing in turf or wilted leaves on plants. This presentation provides science-based approaches on how to plan for and mitigate the effects of drought. Drought resistant gardening is not difficult, but it requires year-round attention to certain gardening techniques. Following these techniques will result in fewer brown spots in turf or wilted leaves on plants during hot dry summer days.
