Penned by the author of The Help, this novel is set in 1933 Oxford, Mississippi and explores sisterhood and resilience during the Great Depression. The story follows three women: Birdie, a spunky young woman seeking to save her family’s farm; Meg, an eleven-year-old orphan; and Charlie, an outsider. Together they form an audacious plan to take back control of their lives.
